My 93 Ranger was not equipped with a rear swaybar. But about two weeks ago, I was out at the local wrecking yard,
FM600 Wrecking Yard and I saw a Ranger Splash with a rear sway bar.

I went back yesterday with a friend of mine and the Splash was gone :bawling:, bummer.
Just for fun we drove down to the crusher and there it was. It was number two in line. :yahoo:

The front coil springs were already gone but the rear swaybar was still there. And they let us go ahead and remove the
swaybar, really kool people.

My Ranger (no swaybar)

The driver side link is the only real problem, its nut cannot be accessed from the bottom. The gas tank is in the way.
But if you remove the bed, then its no problem.

The swaybar install was really pretty easy

And well worth the time, its hard to believe that something so simple can make such a big difference in the way the truck handles.
I love it.

Now I just need to track down a set of Splash coil springs

is there zero space for mounting the drivers side link, or is it really tight?

How important is a rear sway bar anyway? I'm not sure if mine will reach once I mount my axle up. :D

There is no chance from under the truck. However, if you remove the bed then its no problem. I had no problem getting the nut started and no problem tightening the nut with an 18mm socket and a 1/2-inch drive ratchet.

Look at the picture with my friends hand, there is plenty of access from the top.

Most Ranger are not equipped with a rear sway bar. But I really wanted mine to handle better. And I was suprised, the handling difference was noticable.

I'm going to change the factory rubber sway bar bushings with Polyurethane Bushings. Lets see what that does.

I can't speak to the differences between his truck and mine but when I mounted a BII 1" bar on my 84 long bed I didn't have to remove the bed. I just slid a wrench up between the tank and frame rail. Not sure how that's work out on the 86 short bed though, putting in an Explorer axle so not even sure if I'll be able to re-use the bar with it.
