thinking about building a pre runner with the 2.3 engine? It all ready has 4.10 gears and seems like it would need much more power especially with bigger tires. Thanks.

i have 31's and still can get to 95mph. but, you can always turbo it or throw a v6 in there. ive seen a couple full on 2.3l prerunners around here.

(the funny thing is that the bigger tires threw the govuner off so it thinks im going 85 when im actually going 95, lol)

Do it. Don't be afraid to think bigger on the gears, I know a guy with a 2.3 and 4.56s and it is fine. Plenty of power, no issues on the highway. much better power than my 3.0 w/ 4.10s.

The advantage of a strong 4 banger over a v6/v8 is weight, turbo it and fly level!

This truck has (well.. had) a 2.3 in it I believe.

Raceranger97 is the owner. I think he swapped in a 4.0 though, but he rocked the 2.3 for a while.

I wouldn't mind some fast paced field action, but dirt and rock is alot less forgiving than sand.
