Why not just put a line lock in the rear brake line to use for a parking brake. Would be cheaper and easier then a separate master cylinder and would pretty much be accomplishing the same thing.

Could actually put one in front and rear and get better holding power.

I already checked into that, and line locks are not recommended for long term use, they start to bleed off after about 5 minutes of use

ive seen alot of guys use industrial grade high pressure ball valves ran beside the seat

there is a ball valve in line with the brake line to the rear brakes that runs inside the cab. You apply pressure to the brakes, and shut the valve off, thus maintaining the pressure to the rear wheel cylinders; essentially creating a line-lock

or close it with no pressure to the rears and burnouts are alot easier

Just make sure you get a good high quality high pressure valve that will withstand brake fluid. Not some cheapo low pressure one from Lowes or Home Depot.

exactly, no cheepo lowes valves. you need an industrial quality valve thats good for id say atleast 1K psi to be safe

I would love to know how the handle one would work, to me it looks like if you pulled on it, the fluid would also go to the main master cylinder, and if you put a check ball in line to keep that from happening, how would the back brakes let go when you took your foot off the pedal, also what would keep the fluid from the master from blowing the top off the hand cylinder when the foot pedal is pushed ????


I can see the hand one working if you have disk brakes in back, and install small set of calipers to use as the hand brake, of course this would be a really neat way for a line lock and to do burn outs if installed on the front.

I have heard of some brake systems making 2000+ psi at times so I would get a valve rated around 2500-3000 psi to be safe. Would suck to hit the brakes and blow the valve out.

Does anyone know if the 31 spline 8.8 shafts are the same for drum and disc brakes? Pretty sure they are, just want to make sure.
