My credo
JESUS Loves Ya!
(EDITED: Blake...sorry you couldn't be here on your 20th Birthday to help build it Son....my heart is broken, but I hear Heaven's a great place...say Hello to Jesus for me...)

I'M Converting my 1989 Ranger XLT into a "1934 XLT"-It's time for the 20 year up-grade & a new look with a body swap....
( I really didn't want to scrap the '89 body since it's in such good shape)
guess I'll give the '89 Ranger body to my neighbor so he can roll a bagged chassis under it!(* i want it back when he gets done!

But, I always wanted a .....RED..... '34 ....... Ford !!!!!!! (the company i bought the cab from makes an "Extra-Cab", so that's the one I bought for the extra storage space)

Since I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to do this, you guys will have to provide the answers on this project....Waaaahaaaahhaaaahaa

(Warning to the Intelligent: some of the pics are out of sequence/all stupied mistakes are documented/lots of moronic thread-jacking &/or conversations/ups & downs of Life: hence....braindamage)

Edit: #2 pic... thanks for finding the chassis pic for me--looks like I got the rear half of the (oem) chassis looking decent with some wire-brushing & 5 cans of gloss black....gotta move the cab mounts before I spray-bomb the front half of the frame.

Here are the pics of setting the fiberglass parts on the Official 100% Scale-Frame (of course the wheels are smaller)...............

Ive been tryin to come up with a quote....looks like you guys found one for me-I'll start using it soon.

Edit: the engine is stock 2.9l EFI---180,003 miles & no smoke out of exhaust--I was argueing with myself over 25 mpg OR 2.5 gal.per mile, so I made myself leave the 2.9 in the truck till gas gets to $1 a gallon. :icon_rofl (see-braindamage)

Edit: This is a view looking at the '89 Ranger being disassembled. You're looking through the '34 bed.........

LOUISIANA & gas was $4 a gallon when I started the build...
somebody said they were hoping for $2 a gallon....
while we're hoping, let's hope for a $1 a gallon....
maybe the Arabs & S.A.'s will stop cutting our throats & start cutting each other's ( gas price war )http://[IMG.STREETROD(58).JPG.IMG]
That's the closest I could get to a picture! (hence: stupied).

EDIT: 18 Mar 09-----oh well, Arabs had to drop price of crude, but (H)exxon is cutting back on production!
Simply amazing....the Arabs back off, so Exxon (etc.) takes over rapeing us :annoyed:

Bed in a Box (my amatuer welding didn't turn out too good later on--but the body man hid most of it)
Oh well, I was aiming for the well-used '36 Ranger daily driver look.
I got this bed kit for 1/2 the price of an assembled bed (less the flooring...I think I'm gonna go with aluminum diamond plate)
(Note: The assembled beds only need a little body work & paint...you make your own mounts to fit the Ranger chassis.:icon_rofl:)

Edit: July 2022...I'm still trying to find the unassembled bed pics****FOUND THEM Aug 2022

Mocking up front end--it had about 6" clearance between tires/lip of fenders...front suspension is still at OEM ride height (alt. & p/s pump were just relocated so they would clear the hood sides)

I had to saw the frame horns off to get fat fenders in the right spot...worked out just right...didn't loose radiator mounts to the recip. saw :yahoo: I still need to install the up-right radiator & re-plumb the xmszn cooling lines

Refering to pic # 13, It took about 4 hours to relocate the alternator & p/s pump over the valve covers and align the belts so the hood sides would fit since the '36 grill is 2 feet narrower than the '89 grill....that's why it's so easy to see p/s pump & alternator thru the hole in the grill...just enough room to put a pancake a/c compressor between pump & alt.
