That's a very common problem with the later Rangers. Problem is the door switch that is now part of the latch mechanism, not a button like the old days. Usually just spraying something like WD-40 or electronic cleaner into the latch area will solve the problem. Might take a couple of times, did mine a couple of years ago and never had another problem.
