Dome Light On

Problem with light illuminated while driving with "Door Ajar" light not lit. What to do to get dome light out because it is safety hazard at night?

We had/have that problem with our 99. Never resolved it.

And if I recall pulling the fuse for it had some secondary undesired consequences.

We ended up pulling the bulb on it as an expedience and haven't gotten back to it.
 
That's a very common problem with the later Rangers. Problem is the door switch that is now part of the latch mechanism, not a button like the old days. Usually just spraying something like WD-40 or electronic cleaner into the latch area will solve the problem. Might take a couple of times, did mine a couple of years ago and never had another problem.
