Welcome to the single digit mpg club.

Would a scanner show up anything?

Stuck thermostat will kill mileage. So will O2s or MAF. Check your air filter to see if its wet or plugged.

Hmm, didn't think of the thermostat. It has been running cool lately, but I just figured its from being cold out.

Both o2 are new when I bought the truck. And the filter was replaced after Bundy last year, buy wouldn't hurt to check it.

I've been busy last few days trying to get the ranger running better.
So far I have tested the TPS, MAF, and both seem to be working correctly. I also cleaned the crap out of the IAC again and that seems to be working again for now.

I went ahead and put new plug wires on. They were the original wires from 93 with 196k miles on them, I had no idea they were original. I also pulled all the plugs and they all looked normal except for one, it had a gap of .080 and was super black. Either its running rich on that cylinder or had a bad plug. All the rest were gap at .055-.060. With the new plug wires and a bottle of Lucas injector cleaner in the tank seemed to make it run much, MUCH better.

Also checked the fuel pressure yesterday and it holds press at 60psi even while running, is that normal pressures?

Also yesterday, my good friend Matt at GetBent Kustoms cut out an exhaust flange that goes between the y pipe and cat so I can bypass the cats to see if they are the problem.

Today I ordered 3" and 2.5" exhaust pipe. 3" is for the snorkel and 2.5 for the cat delete.

I picked this up today.

My neighbor scraped his bagged ranger project so I gave him $40 for it.

This came the other day.

So I assembled it and made a stand.

I also made the exhaust adapter. The pictures I took don't really show what it looks like.

I had a flange cut out on a plasma table. I used the gasket as a template.
Then cut up some 2.5" exhaust pipe to form a pipe that is 3.75" oval at one end and tapers to 2.5".

For now I put the exhaust on hold to upgrade the snorkel. The 2" PVC was to small and was restricting the air flow. I'll post pictures when I am done.

It will look exactly like Plumcrazy's

Here are a few pictures of snorkel version 2.0
I cut a hole in the inner fender.

Then cut a hole in the side of the lower air filter assembly.

Then placed a piece of 3" exhaust pipe in, riveted and sealed.

All tacked together. It's not done, still need a 90 degree elbow.

In this picture I have the driver side headlight and corner lense in.

When all if the mods are done to our vehicles, we need to get another side by side picture, the one on my desktop of when we met is out of date. Maybe mine will have a paint job on it.

We can do that. If you don't make it to the spring meet, I just might have to make a trip to the Badlands.

If I'm 4wd. I want to get a trackbar like yours then weld tabs or a holder for the eyelet end on the frame mount, want to get rid of the TRE one i have, will help with the steering slop i have. You get the drag link shipped yet, it will go on at the same time i do the trackbar mod., no big hurry for it though.

So much todo, so little time and funds
