What This Does:

As you know the newer Rangers (’02+) only have a turn signal bulb in the front head light assembly. Well, this mod turns the corner marker light into a turn signal as well. This mod allowing more visibility of your turn signals to other motorists.

Here’s a few pics:

Here is the stock set-up from the factory on the D/S.

2007 Ranger Turn Signal Modification

The BLACK/YELLOW (black wire with yellow stripe) needs to be cut. Make sure to leave enough wire so that this mod can be reversed if desired.

Locate wire

I used weather tight male/female electrical connectors for a cleaner look plus it would be very easy to return to stock later if I wanted to. The dead end of the wire got a opposite connector, and I simply used another connector to block it off. I then used some shrink tubing to make it water resistant.

Now I took the other end of the wire and tapped it into the PURPLE/GREY (purple wire with grey strip). This would be the bottom wire out of the (3) wires on the turn signal harness with the quick clip facing up.

Tap wire

It should look like this:

This is the finished product after everything was taped back up:

Editor Notes:

Based on H.P. Freak’s explanation, I made this diagram to help explain the wiring. The Purple/Grey he mentions should actually be Violet/White.

The BLUE represents a tap to add a wire on to the existing wire without cutting it. The RED is simply new wire to make the connections. The red wire attaches to the wires that were cut with butt end connectors.

RangerRocker submitted wiring information on the 1998 and newer Rangers. I used that information to make the diagram below.

The GREEN represents butt end connectors. The BLUE represents a tap to add a wire on to the existing wire without cutting it. The RED and DK RED is simply new wire to make the connections.
