I looked for any info but came up with nothing. My setup was 302, c-4, 13-50. I came across a zf at a great price so now my b2 sits with no trans in it, and a pile of parts. My questions are 1) how do I connect the b2 master to the zf slave cylinder? 2) I want to run a 1356 t-case but it will be too wide, what options are there?

Master-slave should plug right in, ProjectNitemare should know more about it. You can't tuck the 1356 in the rails, but you should be able to use an NP205 and possibly notch the frame a small amount. If this sounds like too much work, I'll take the Zf off your hands and give ya an M50D-R2 with an adapter to run a 1350/1354.....just my offer, lol.

the stock line will plug into the ZF. If not go to the parts store and buy a master line for an 88 Ranger, it will plug in. They should have adapters as well. The ZF will take any fullsize 6 bolt t-case. The NP 205 is a good choice for stregnth. You will have to grind part of the flange to bolt it on due to the shift rail. It will be obvious where to grind when you try to bolt it up.

I like the fact that the 205 is small and reliable as a hammer, but it lacks low range. I've heard of a company making 3-1 gears for the 205 but it's " in the works" so my other options are 208 or 1356. I haven't heard much about the 208 which is either good or bad. GOOD=they work no complaints or BAD=no one uses em? The 1356 on the other hand would look like this...

Tell me more about the 208...

what u were trying to explain to me the other day just got crystal clear after seein that picture. and if u decide to use a 1356.... IM NOT GONNA HELP U!!!

Yeah the 1356 is too big for a Ranger frame, some will tell you otherwise but it's still too big and there are other choices. The 208 is fine, nothing wrong with it. They are a tight squeeze, you need to cut a few tabs off and lightly shave the lower part of the frame depending on your engine placement. If you aren't going to flog the truck constantly you'll be fine, but if you are going to rock crawl etc you'll eventually break it. They will also bolt to the ZF. The 3:1 kit is for the chevy pass drop 205. The 205 has a poopy low, 1.96:1 but you aren't going to break it. It's heavy and if you want to do dual cases it will be way heavier yet and you will get like a 4:1 low. If you feel you need the little more gear use the 208, if you will beat it use the 205.

What Was I Thinking???

So I started my ZF swap. I didn't realize how BIG this thing was until we tried to swing it into the truck...

Everything is in the way. The right side header, y-pipe, the driver side floor, and the pinch welds.

But with a little help from a hammer, tin snips, sawzall and clever placement of a engine hoist...

It's cool to see a real pick-up tranny in one of these.

Have you considered a Dana 300 T-case? I've heard of an outfit that makes a kit to run it upside down for the drivers drop. I don't remember the name, sorry.
