i have a zf transmission i am putting in my 94 ranger and i thought i read somewhere that i could use the ranger hydralic line with the zf but it doesnt seem to plug in right, i dont know if the lines fitting or the slave cylindar is messed up or if they dont work together. If they dont work together what other options for the hydraulic clutch work well with the zf transmission.

Is it the same style of connection with a pin to hold it?

it has the same style quik connect plug in fitting on the transmission side, but they dont seem to work together.

on the master cylindar side the 89 f-250 the zf came out of and the ranger have the same style connection with a pin holding the lines in, would the f250 line plug into the ranger master cylinder? i just want to find the easyest way to do this.

I would try the big truck line to the Ranger master. If it works, great.

I had the same problem with my hydraulic line and the zf, the 94 ranger hydraulic line snapped into the zf trans slave cylinder but it leaked so i then did some research and found that i needed to get a line from an 88 ford ranger with manual trans. Because the F250 and the 88 ranger both use the same internal slave cylnder so therefore the fittings are the same and it will hook up to your 94 master cylinder. Just make sure you keep it away from touching the exhaust or rubbing through on something. And DEFINETELY pull the master cylinder off and attach line to it, then bench bleed it or you will most likely have air trapped in the line where it makes a U bend to go back up over the frame. Hope that helps.

thank you ford1386, that really helps me out. i hope have it drivable in the next with and that was one of about three little things i still needed to work out.
