Your Tow Rig

How come you went backwards there with the new tow rig Maverick?

Our tow rig.

My Dad uses his 2007 Dodge 2500 Laramie 4 door long bed diesel to haul our stuff.

We haul our 32ft Cougar 5th Wheel camp trailer:

We haul the Jeep:

Last year we made a 26' car trailer to haul both of the jeeps to the trail.

There's a few reasons. The trucks I'm looking at are in the $24k-$27k range still, and while I did really good selling my truck I would have to get back into payments to buy one. Right now I'm basically payment free and I'm trying to stay that way until I'm able to purchase a house. I'm also having a tough time spending that much on 6 year old truck. When I bought my truck it was 7 years old, had 78K on it, and I paid $16500 for it. Now the trucks I'm looking at are 6 years old with same mileage and $8,000 or so more. Lastly, I only paid $5100 for that truck, and there is no way I could get into a better truck than that for anywhere near that price.

All good reasons Maverick. The crew cab is nice to have too!

My '99 Dodge Cummins 3500. Straight piped, Raptor RP-100 fuel pump, Isspro pillar gauges with fuel pressure/pyrometer/boost, and BD Exhaust brake.

My Enclosed with gas air Compressor, Torch set up and full tool box along with Hardware bins, and provisions for a Generator and 110 welder. All the stickers are off now and getting prepped to re-paint the truck Metallic Gray and the trailer with a fresh coat of black

You win!

My truck is the same one I've had since 2004--the '88 crewcab with a 6.2 diesel, Banks turbo, TH400 and Gear Vendors splitter. It rides like a Cadillac and is like hooking a trailer to a planet. It doesn't have 8 million horsepower, but what it has, it uses well and is no slouch.

I got rid of this trailer a few years ago because it wouldn't maneuver well where I lived. It's close to a 30' deck. It was fine until Illinois was granted statehood. Now I don't have anywhere to turn it around. The truck is the same still, though.

My new trailer is this. I've had to go through the center of Indianapolis with it and it tracks so sweetly I felt better than when pulling my 18' car hauler.

Buddy bought this for the Dmax/6 spd ZF.... I'm using the rolling chassis to swap my Cummins/NV into, but driving it while I headstud/o-ring the cummins.

02' GMC 3500, 7.5'x9' deck, cab and chassis = dual tanks, huge frame, narrower trck then normal dually etc. and a flip-up gooseneck ball.
