you own anything rare?

I saw a 2002 4dr on ebay a year or two ago with a factory 5-sd, I didn't even know they made such a beast. Especially with the new bodystyle.

The rarest thing I have is my 1946 John Deere B, it has electric start. Because of that it has a semi-exposed flywheel as opposed to the '48+ B's with a fully enclosed flywheel, and has a different hood/dash than a hand start '46 B (for the battery) My dad payed $25 for it 30 years ago, turned out the only wrong was the mag was 180 degrees off. We have added a later lift system (original was either up or down with no in between) a distributer, and a aftermarket three point hitch. It is a cultivating/snowpushing fool, and an absolute riot to operate. It isn't that rare, but isn't that common either.

You're right, they are a blast! Grew up in western NE, worked for a guy had a hand start one, that thing was a beast!
Luckily not super heavy, as it ran over him once. Started it, and thought it was in neutral, threw in the hand clutch and it took off. To add insult to injury, since one of the front tires was always flat, it cranked a hard right and came around and hit him again! Luckily just cracked some ribs, thanks to soft ground.
Rarest thing I can think of offhand I got is a 1960-something JC Whitney I found in a old house I was helping gut. Some cool stuff in it!

Not technically mine but my dad has an old tractor. It's a 1939 Harry Ferguson TO-20. It still runs (usually) and got a spray paint restoration a few years ago. It still gets used. Has a hydraulic system that raises and lowers the grater blade we use to smooth out our gravel road. Like I said it's not technically mine but I'm always the one who works on it so in some way I own a part of it. We've also got a 1966 Chevy C-30 pickup Custom Camper that going to get fixed up one day. Has almost no brakes and is covered in rust both on the body and in the primary fuel tank (runs permanently on the secondary) but it still starts everytime and can shift into gear no problem.

Yeah, the hand clutch can get you in trouble, big thing to remember is with only two cylinders, low compression and 5.5" of stroke, leaving it in gear so it doesn't roll away doesn't do much good anyway, just keep them in neutral if they ain't runnin.

I own a ton of rare musical shtuff

I also have a collection of letters written by my great, great, great, grandpa during the Civil War. I also have an original confederate flag. Not the stars and bars but the previous one that looked too damn much like the American flag.

Then tons of other various nick naks worth something to some one.

Well, i collect antique engines...

Probably the rarest I have is a complete Associated Pony washing machine engine. That and it's 4 stroke cousin (briggs clone) are what put Associated out of business. I have a total of 6, but only one that is complete. I thought about getting it running, but a mag is $600 (or a FM-J conversion is $400) and it would probably just throw the rod anyways (they all do eventually), and I only have 3 good rods still around. they all need new bearings poured though.

I also have an unmodified Lenco L75 Turntable, and a bunch of old radio/audio equipment...

Tubes and Vinyl are your friend.

:icon_hornsup:

sounds like an interesting engine..

And hell yeah, Tubes and Vinyl for the win!

I have a Garrard Type A turntable with an extra headshell and extra 45 changer module. It is hooked up to a much newer (circa 1980) Marantz receiver and in a home made cabinet with 12" Pioneer speakers in matching home made speaker cabinets. Sounds great. Also have an old early/mid 60's era Sony reel to reel, and a same era Roberts reel to reel.

I have a 1985.5 Mitsubishi Starion, flatbody, all original, 75k miles.

And some JBL L166 horizons.

Here's my old JD--a 1949 MC.

I also have this pair of diesels--the left is a 2006 stationary Indian copy of an ancient Lister (that's a video I made of it running)--6hp at 600rpm or therebouts. On the right is a 1980s Chinese copy of a '30s German marine diesel with gear. It's about 10hp @ 1800rpm. The Lister is about 4' tall--hard to get an idea of scale in that picture.

Then my 1971 Bobcat M371 on it's second repower:

Then I have a 26' boat building in my yard--that's an old picture as it's almost ready for planking now. It is getting a 16hp Kubota D722 that I pulled from that Bobcat.

It will look like this:

I've also built a mini-tugboat with a trolling motor, three rowboats, a kayak and those are all in the yard somewhere. Here are a couple of them in a video.

And I have a 1971 Winnebago motorhome but I can't find a picture. I think that's all my large unusual stuff. Except my little backhoe maybe.

I have a 2003 RMEF(RockyMountainElkFoundation) Winchester model 94 lever action 44.mag banquet rifle I won in 2003. It was the last year Winchester made the lever actions. I don't know what its value is , but was told it should be double what FMV(fair market value) was(which was 1400 in 2003). It hangs on the wall in a custom case, and has never been shot(except from the factory, which all Winchesters are shot).
I have a ton of old Star Wars toys still in the packages, and some 1890's(ish) Walking Liberty silver dollars. 2 dollar bills starting from 1924(only worth about 2.50 each) and some 1 dollar silver certificate(blue seal dollar bills) from 1957.
All that crap is for sale if it will put my kids through college(my oldest starts kindergarten this year).

I have some antique furniture, the oldest being a pristine steamer trunk made in 1871. I have a rather large colection of rare coins, totalling, well a good chunk of cash.

The rarest, a jeep that gets 24 MPG

good stuff. I myself perfer the John deere's with spokes, (preferably round) and hand start. I'm currently at a stoping point on a '39 B i'm repainting/getting it useable. So far it's turning out pretty good. To me, you just can't beat the sound of a 2 cylinder John Deere. And for some reason, to me the B's just sound better than the rest. They just should have made reverse be at a speed more useable or clutch friendly. I also have a '36 A and my dad has A's, B's, G's and a few newer 2 cylinders.

does my 1969 JD garden tractor count, i also have a set of Pontiac prototype 303 heads.

Heirloom

We had an old Lee Enfield No.4 (I think) Savage model with all matching numbers on the breach and all that. It was an old sniper rifle from WWI or II. It was handed down from my Opa to us but was unregistered and all that so we turned it into the police and they destroyed it.

UNREGISTERED???
What part of FREEDOM do you not understand?

Four Remington Bronzes, Bronco Buster std., Wicked Pony std., Mountain Man min. and Cheyenne min.

Also have numerous spurs, badges and a pair of 1880 vintage handcuffs.

I agree, I don't know what they were thinking when they came up with the gearing on the older B's, both first and reverse are almost too fast (reverse is dangerously fast) The gearing on my brother's '48 is much better, my first is almost like his third. Aside from that though I like everything else about mine better (platform layout, seat, steering...). Between my brother, dad and myself we have four two cylinders (my '46 B, bro's '48 B, dads '50 A and B) they all sound totally different and are different to drive. Can't say which one sounds better, all except my dad's '50 B sound good (it has an aftermarket muffler)

It is really a bummer after I drive my WD-45 or C for awhile and hop on the B, and then keep mashing the left brake without thinking expecting it to work like a clutch.
