We had an old Lee Enfield No.4 (I think) Savage model with all matching numbers on the breach and all that. It was an old sniper rifle from WWI or II. It was handed down from my Opa to us but was unregistered and all that so we turned it into the police and they destroyed it.

and soon to be
an 85 ford LTD interseptor
1 of 500ish(what my uncle says) sold to civilans
hes had it since the showroom floor

Agreed... something that old and historic should be in a museum or kept as a family heirloom.

Destroying history like that pisses me off...

A factory M5OD 4 door explorer. its the only one ive ever seen with working electric 4wd, or the only factory 5speed 4 door ive ever seen of any year model. ive also had a 1978 and a 1979 f150 with a 460 in each, one with factory overload springs (truck held more weight than some 3/4 tons ive seen) and the other a decked out xlt, which now houses a 72 429 that will smoke the tires without trying, but needs a carb.

1968ish Rogers R-380 drum set in execellent condition. Managed to find an identical model and combined to make up the "death kit." Work in progress, but I made the rack setup for it out of 3/16" thick aluminum tube. Very fun set to play.

1975ish Ludwig Vista Light (clear green) all original oversize concert toms, was 7 piece originally, but is now an 8 piece. My dad managed to find 24" bass drum from another model that was identical. I don't know how many of these kits were made, but from what I understand, green wasn't so hot back then, nor were the oversize/concert toms.

Soon to buy a 1974ish Gretsch "stop sign" badge 5 piece kit, also have an early 80's Slingerland, but those aren't that rare, but you typically don't see too many.

If you couldn't tell, I really love older drums.

Ford motor sport chrome valve covers for a 2.9L

Sears Golden Pinto minibike (60s?). Countless engine have been blown up/replaced, welded cracks, it's seen a lot. Currently being re-vamped.

When I was growing up (born in '83 - around '95), I had an original late '60s Sting Ray Schwinn. I really miss that bike, but the frame was REALLY heavy.

That's all I can think of now.

Pete

Edit:
Interesting:

According to http://www.vistalites.com/reference/history.htm - in 1977:
With sales of fewer than 50 kits, green was dropped from the Vistalite colour options. Smoke (a sort of see-through grey) was added. The hardware was improved with 12 inch toms now being equipped with large lugs and bass drums being fitted with the thicker half inch spurs.

Well, i collect antique engines...

Probably the rarest I have is a complete Associated Pony washing machine engine. That and it's 4 stroke cousin (briggs clone) are what put Associated out of business. I have a total of 6, but only one that is complete. I thought about getting it running, but a mag is $600 (or a FM-J conversion is $400) and it would probably just throw the rod anyways (they all do eventually), and I only have 3 good rods still around. they all need new bearings poured though.

I also have an unmodified Lenco L75 Turntable, and a bunch of old radio/audio equipment...

Tubes and Vinyl are your friend.

My 1988 Black Range Rover. Only one black one was issued per state that year and i have the first one to be sold in the U.S. The guy i bought i from had all the sticker work and every thing. The guy special ordered it in 1987 has every option it could have.

I've alway seemed to end up with the old-ball cars. Only GM I ever owned was a '37' LaSalle. My '66' Ranchero is kind of rare with equipment it has. The Roush I drive in the summer was limited to 1050 units. The Fairlane Cobra ('69') sitting the barn only sold 3500 like it with that body style. Being that it came with the ram air, 4-speed and the SCJ motor makes it rarer yet. It still has only 36,000 miles on it but only one seat and still has the six point roll bar in it.

We had an M1 Carbine my dad got from my grandpa. My grandpa had claimed he snuck it out of the army in WWII. I told that tale my whole childhood.

I have my grandpa's separation papers. He was in the army for about the last 15-minutes of WW2 and was seperated at his basic training camp in Arkansas. The carbine turned out to be an Alpine brand, assembled out of government surplus spare parts in the '60s and was the junkiest damn thing I ever saw. It was a dangerously loose piece of junk and I cut it up--along with a pile of 1950s hardware store $10 shotguns that were just as junky after 50 years.

The rarest thing I own is an unrestored but well maintained 69 Fairlane Cobra 428 CJ Sportroof with ram air. It has almost all of the original equipment with the exception of the emissions being removed and an aluminum radiator. The engine and transmission were rebuilt once and work great. The color is Indian Fire Metallic.

I have a '66 Chrysler 300 2dr. Red on white with a 440 tnt motor, 727 torqueflight trans, and a sure-grip rearend. It's one of the most well optioned 300's made that year. It also has the original certi-card and other original documents from Chrysler mailed to the purchaser. It has 15" wheels and BUDD disc brakes. BTW, this is the first year for the 440. The TNT package, same as the Dodge 440 Magnum and the Plymouth 440 Commander, added 15 hp with a dual snorkel air cleaner and dual exhaust. It was rated from the factory at 365hp, 480ft-lbs.

A factory M5OD 4 door explorer. its the only one ive ever seen with working electric 4wd, or the only factory 5speed 4 door ive ever seen of any year model.

I saw a 2002 4dr on ebay a year or two ago with a factory 5-sd, I didn't even know they made such a beast. Especially with the new bodystyle.

The rarest thing I have is my 1946 John Deere B, it has electric start w/ lights, which was pretty up down back then. Because of that it has a semi-exposed flywheel as opposed to the '48+ B's with a fully enclosed flywheel, or a hand start flywheel that was totally exposed (you spun it to start it) and has a different hood/dash than a hand start '46 B (for the battery) My dad payed $25 for it 30 years ago, turned out the only wrong was the mag was 180 degrees off. We have added a lift system off of a newer tractor (original was either up or down with no in between) a distributer, and a aftermarket three point hitch. It is a cultivating/snowpushing fool, and an absolute riot to operate. It isn't that rare, but isn't that common either.

That is my 8.8 on the boom BTW.
