Hey names Gabriel. Bought this Mazda B2300 2 years ago in January. Loved this thing and just want to maintain it correctly so I joined here. Thanks for having me! Attached is a picture from my most recent camping trip lol.

Welcome to TRS. Lots of great info on here.

Soooo I’m doing the spark plugs and I need help getting to the ones under the fuel rail? I already did the four and the wires but I can’t figure out how to remove the intake manifold. I got the 5 bolts off and tried to pull it off but something is holding it in place and I can’t find out what it is? If anybody has a link or any info please help!?

First off Welcome to TRS.

I'm not up on the 2.3L engines but many times over years the injectors stick inside the intake/fuel rail. You can use your favorite Chisel Driver, pry bar to pry up on the fuel rail to help pop them out. Be prepared to replace the O-rings on the injectors as necessary and when reinstalling put a little oil on the O-rings to lube them for reinsertion.

Hope this info helps.

pics of your engine please.

note the bolts above and below the EGR tube on the right.

on my 2005, and 2002, the 4 spark plugs are easily accessible.
the 4 items under the intake manifold are fuel injectors.

the vacuum line for the brake booster connects to the manifold, should be obvious.

don't pull hard enough to break anything, replacement manifolds are not easy to find.

I'll have to look, it's been a while since removing the intake.
does yours have the flapper controls? that's a vacuum actuator at the rear of the manifold. I'm not sure what year they were discontinued on Mazdas.

follow the hose from the PCV valve, it connects to the intake.
also, replace the PCV. it's the blue elbow. the retaining ring snaps off.
the top pic is a 2010 2.5 out of a Fusion.
the bottom pic is the 2.3 I took out of my 2005. lighting was not the best, oops.
