Sooo, i've never been much of a Ford fan. But i needed a new truck and didnt want a bloated 'compact' thats more like an undersized half ton. so that really only leaves one option now doesnt it?

I went and drove a ranger despite never being able to find a comfortable seating position in full size Ford's. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least.

It's definitely the best looking small truck, I've always liked the looks. I LOVE the fact it comes with a rubber floor, I have no use for carpet in a truck. I wanted an FX4 but was unable to find one in my price range. A loaded sport is just fine though :icon_thumby: as all the FX4 is getting me over this are the skid plates, RS5000's and those oh so sexy wheels. RS5000's are cheap, I'd change the wheels anyway, so I bought the damn thing.

its a 2008, as said it seems to have every possible option. Black was my last choice color wise but I'll get over it.

Last night I gave the T bars 3.5 turns so it sits much better now. I need to order shocks this weekend.

And here is what I upgraded from. My 1983 S15 with more rust then steel, no power, and a solid 2l a week oil consumption :icon_rofl:

Congrats and welcome! Sharp looking Truck.

Nice truck ya got there! Eventually I'll be ditching my carpet for vinyl aftermarket flooring, but you found one with power gizmos and the rubber floor, nice find. Your story & mine actually have plenty in common. For one, I was a GM-guy and never much of a Ford fan either (until '08 anyway) and my '07 F150 had torturous seating devices between the doors, but despite my Ranger's small size, I find the seats to be nice & comfy. Lastly, I'd also agree with you that the Ranger most certainly is the best looking compact truck out there :icon_thumby:

P.S. I'm a 2WD guy, so what do I know, but here's a good link on how to add another couple of inches of ride-height on the cheap.

Thanks guys :)

knockknock

my GMC was carpet, when i replaced the floor i switched it to vinyl.

I would just drive a lifted 2WD if not for the damn winter we have. That and the chevy has me hooked on going off road hahaha

The belltech shackles are already on the list, but I wont lift it any more until i have tires sitting here waiting to go on

Welcome to TRS! Nice looking truck you got there. I like the S15 too. I wouldn't mind getting me one of those to use as a beater or build a race truck.

I loved the s15 but sooooo much damn rust. The joys of canada haha

Welcome fellow Canadian!

Nice truck...if you take a bit of time from your build and do a bit of preventative maintenance on the frame and underside you can keep the rust at bay...give your shackles a good look and clean them up and protect them if you have time...it will save you a bit of headache down the road as these seem to be one of the first things to go on Rangers...

I'll be sure to give it a good going over before the snow flys.
