I Bought.............

Tools, yes i bought tools, I don't know what to say i can't stop thinking about them i bought pretty shiny new tools,

All from the snap-on guy

I know your going to say i paid for a name, but well i know i did.

But who could turn down half-off prices through my school

Pics to come this week.

I had to tell some one i can't keep all this inside

Congrats. I really need to get some tools. I'm hoping to get some by the summer so I can get out of my dead end job and into a shop.

Going to school for automotive?

Yeah i go to school for auto/diesel at University of northwestern ohio (UNO). My g/f's dad's best friend owns a shop in town. Well my g/f's dad said something about me going to school and stuff, well the guy told him to send me on down his way. I went and talk to him hes like when can u start, so i start first weekend in nov. i'm home. Finaly a place to work where i hopefully won't hate being there.

So thats what promted the buying of the tools and that i'm tired of never having the tools i need.

Congrats. Snap-on's hand tools can't be beat.

Avoid the snap-on plastic impacts though. They're all noise and fury, but Chicago pneumatic's stuff is stronger for a hell of a lot less money. You'll notice in a hurry if you go to work on trucks.

I get a lot of oddball, hard-to-find stuff from http://www.mcmaster.com and http://www.mscdirect.com. MSC will happily mail you a 20-lbs catalog!:icon_surprised:

Thats awesome man. The snap on and mac and matco guys have all been to my school as well. I wish i had money for those tools..

my brother works in a diesel shop in cleveland and payed 2400 for his USED tool box...... let me tell you, every time i visit his shop i get excited and tell him he should quit so all those tools come home for me to use. i think he is up around 6-7k in tools.

+1 on the Chicago Pneumatic tools. I have plenty of neat tools, now I just need a garage, instead of a shed...

hey truckman, congrats on the tools.i'm totally jealous!

Tools are always good. If your workin on the heavy stuff, you need dependable tools. Im working with IR air tools. I got the QTI half inch impact and 3/8s impact. I like the lighter air tools because i use them more then my ratchets. Some snap on stuff is well worth the money, but other things like wrenchs are over priced. I have a 2000 Sears tool box and about 18 grand in hand and air tools. Abot 8 of it is snap on, and the rest are sears and ca tire pro tools. Im still starting out in the Trade, tho i work on realy big stuff. Invest in a good multi meter, thouse are the tools that will make the money. Just keep telling youself "theres gold in thouse wires" my advanced EEMS instructor would beat that into our heads, and after being in the shop its clear that he was right. Good call on the tools tho, everythings great when its on sale

Snap-on tools, ah hum-bug. Should have went Craftmans.

But actually, Snap-On tools are great tools. My shop uses them, but alot of the sockets are missing. Mainly do to other people not putting tools back where they belong. And a cheap lazy foreman not ordering replacments. But when I do get hold of the correct tool for the job, its good to have.

Craftsman are good, but so are half priced Snap On. :icon_thumby:

you must be a really awesome guy if you went out and spent that much money on you :D. Congrats on the tools

The only problem I have with snap on is, I bought a $5000 set of tools from snap on and now they cant keep anyone working in my area. So I use my tools everyday and they are all starting to wear out and nobody has been around in a year to warranty anything. So now I am starting over with MAC a little at a time. He has been coming to the shop I work at every week for like 7 years.

I have the same problem with Snap-on. They used to come to our shop but now the new salesperson only goes to the bigger dealerships next to us. To warranty anything I have to catch the driver at another shop. :damnit1:
