XL vs XLT (stupid question)

My XLT has manual windows and locks, with a 60/40 bench and auto trans and Electric T case. My buddies Ranger with no trim level has power everything. Honestly I dont think there is any rhyme or reason to any of the badges on the trucks.

yea my 94 xlt has manual windows, locks, mirror, and transmission but also Has custom ordered 7ft, 60/40 seats, a/c, and manual t-case. So i guess its how it was ordered from the factory. Funny that the chrome bumpers was mentioned cause mine does have those. so i guess im just as confused about this as the rest up us lol :derisive:

xl=base model, standard equipment trim level, which came with things such as, rubber floor covering, no power mirrors, no power windows, 60/40 bench seat, painted bumpers, steel wheels. you could order an xl with say.. carpet or A/C, but it would not come with the other stuff standard on an xlt...and so on. you could have an XL with everything that a xlt would have except for one or two options, but it would still be an XL because it does not have all the options an XLT comes with standard. did i make sense? this is the same as chevy LS and LT... but chevy's suck no matter what trim.

P.S. it has nothing to do with how long the truck is.
