wuz up with starter on 4.0 OHV M5OD

went to wreckin yard to pull tranny and starter on wrong side? just tried looking for write up that I know i have seen here before just not finding it. it talked about gearing and physical diff between all the M5OD's. just do not remember any diff's pertaining to starter

there is a M5OD in f150 with the starter on passenger side. Was tranny in truck or loose?

The 4 cyl also had a pass side starter.

my 4.0 ohv with a M5OD has the starter on the drivers side if it were on the passenger side id think it would interfer with the oil filter.
