Hey guys,
For the last 3 years I have been having one heck of a time with my 2005 ford ranger. Now, I need some help with the A/C. For some reason when it is on any setting except MAX A/C it blows out the hottest heat it can. When its on MAX A/C it blows out the coldest air it can. The middle climate control knob has no effect. any help would be wonderful!!!

Colud just be the switch. It might have gone bad...my mom's Caddie did this last summer. The dealer replaced the switch and it was a-ok again.

Thanks so much, mayby i could pull one out of another ranger. How hard is it to change out?

take the radio bezel off(two bolts with a 7mm) and pill it out...the hvac has 4 screws(also 7mm) and remove it. the you can pop the wires outa the 3 knobs and replace the old one with your new one. replace everything and your done.

ive got one from a 97 explorer but its got no glass insert or color...if you want it pm me

edit: nvm, its got blown bulbs and they arent the same as our bulbs
let me know how it goes

Did you think about the blend door also? It control the hot/cold mix and is known to fail in or truck and cause those symptoms. Heck the one in my truck broke!

Alot of times if the pressure switch goes out, then it doesnt modulate the freon expansion. You should read the a/c writeup in the tech section. Try to test your pressure switch if possible. And go from there.
