Okay so my buddy has a 94 Mazda b4000...
the intake gaskets we're a little bit different than the stock gasket or what I thought was a stock gasket there was no valley cover attached to the gaskets to either side so I double checked apparently it's cosmetic
Early 4.0L that's good to know, more later...
Yes, that centers action is cosmetic. Most gasket makers switched away from the one piece gaskets a long time ago. IIRC they used to include a note about that with the gasket set. With a one piece gasket there are potential issues with fitment if the block or head surfaces need to be machined. With the separated gasket, one size fits all.
Nope this was an in front of the house next to the street in 85° weather in the direct sun type job....
Water in the oil most definitely infact it seems as though there may be more water then before
As for pressure I didn't notice to be honest
BTDT, it sucks.Sounds like you're a good friend to have.
Was going to ask if you changed the oil, then reread the first post.
So these heads are cast iron not aluminum I mean how much would it take to really work them?
The early 4.0L and Cologne V6 heads were prone to cracking and warping. Being a 94 and one piece gasket, it most likely has stock heads that fall into that category. Ford improved the design in later years to correct this. The aftermarket has made even more improvements. IMO not worth investing in stock heads, get aftermarket castings for the improvements. Best to stay with 90-94 style, later changed chamber size causing higher compression. Not bad for power, but needs higher octane fuel, and may not play well with the computer.
And finally my last question for the panel is do you think that using the Blue devil water glass sealer would be worth running through the motor what are the pros and cons of this??
Don't. Just don't. Probably wouldn't work anyway, and just contaminates the block.
Other thoughts...
Did you use new head bolts?
It's also possible for an intake leak to cause these problems.
