Ok so im new to this forum so pls excuse me if this has been addressed and i could not find it, but WTF besides DJM i cannot find ANY other lower kits for this truck its a 2005 edge ex cab ranger 4.0 manual and i love her but i want more performance and am gonna start with getting her low and stiff. I went to my local gear head shot and they said that that model has been discontinued for that year for a drp kit i was looking for about a 4-5 or a 5-6 i DO NOT want air bags because i plan to go turbo/5.0 later and want the performance/ handling does any one know any tricks to Correctly lower this truck or any one still selling a drop kit this low still, im so frustrated im about to just chop the damn spindles and block the back and say fukit ..... pls help any would be greatly appreciated FYI my 5th ranger sense i was 16 i have always had a 5.0 mustang 89-93's and various rangers and this time i want my ranger to be my baby

There are NO drop kits for an Edge. All drop kits are for coil sprung trucks, yours has torsion bars. Your best bet is to un crank your torsion bars or get a custom Coilovers made. And welcome to TRS.

what about this

so can i remove the Tou bars and just install a set of A arms and springs and flip the rear springs and what do yall mean by torque the bars im unfamiliar with that term, and does airbags ruin performance as far as seeking wheel hop and handling?

no, you can't take your bars out and add springs. crawl under your truck and follow your bars back the the cross member, find the adjusting bolts and loosen but don't take it all the way out.

ok heres a good one,,, lets test yall knowledge cause i damn sure dont know does any one know .. (sense this is just a ranger with a explorer suspension set up IF all the holes are there for a regular LXT upper and lower spring sock set up . for example if i just bought the stock set up or the regular lowering suspension if could just bolt it in from the existing bolts because lets be honest until this thing hits a certain part of the Assembly line they all look the same this one just got a different lower control are fitted for a Torsion bar... Right????

and ty for the Torsion key flip idea im gonna go try it now

Frames up front are quite a bit different between the two suspensions, even in the width. Have to deal with what you have, all good sugjestions in above posts.

No, completely different set ups. The torsion bar front end does not have spring pockets for springs, therefore coils WILL NOT work on a torsion bar truck.

In all Honesty YOU BOUGHT THE WRONG TRUCK TO LOWER!

yea those are the trucks that are only really meant to stay the same height. and are lifted easier out of the 2.

ya ya ya..... but MacGyver could figure a way to lower it .. lol but i was implying that i would have to get upper and lower A arms that fix the springs.. Also guys does any one know a website that has instructions on how to remove the Torsion bars correctly i removed the cover but could not figure out how to removed the Load off the bar besides undoing the tranny cross member and that just dident seem to be the correct way so any one see a good site for that or do we have a (instrucksions hehe) here) and ya if i knew this at first i would of never bought the damn thing but fact was i had a 331 stroker 95 5.0 and a new baby on the way and crappy credit , on top of that my best friend is a car salesman and this was the only thing that perked my interest so you know how that goes

and you know lift a 2wd imo... thats just me 4wd and i would be all over it

there is a bolt that screws through the cross member in to the key that the t-bar sits in, you have to screw the bolt out to lower it

ok there was 4 bolts holding the plate and then 1 more in the middle that looked like it adjusted the tention on the bar so youre saying i missed a bolt?
