wtf is going on now

got a 02 ranger 4.0 everything was fine until one day i started my truck and smoking like crazy, burning oil on start up. what could have happened or what could be wrong it was all good then it was like the valve seals just dissapeared over night could it be valve seals or something else

i would check out the pvc valve and the hose leading to it making sure it isnt leaking.next i would do a compression test on each cylinder to make sure compression is good. Now bad injectors will cause your car to smoke. this is what happens a injectors goes bad so it will be spraying to much fuel and all will not detonate. so what fuel that dont detonate will soak the bearing and the gas will go into the oil. after the gas mixes with the oil now when the exhaust valve open some of that gas is gonna go pass that exhaust valve straight to the exhaust system making it smoke really bad. also that gas will mess up the bearing and the gas will also wipe the lobes off a cam. if any gas is in the oil pan your best bet is to change the oil.

Is it white smoke, or does it have a blueish color to the white smoke. Pure white smoke is usually antifreeze leaking into one cylinder. It will burn like crazy and do that immediate white smoke routine. Oil burns with a blueish haze.
I suspect a bad gasket letting antifreeze into the combustion chamber, either intake gasket or head gasket.
Does the smoke smell a bit like antifreeze?

got it figured out the pcv valve was stopped up filling the airbox full of oil the air filter was soaked with oil thanks for the replys
