I have a 1998 Ranger V6 4.0 4x4 and I am not getting spark to the plugs. I have new-ish plugs and wires. (about a year old) Just put a new coil on it but still am not getting any spark...... Can any one help...... please

Thanks,
Jessie

yes checked all plugs and it cranks just wont fire

crank position sensor among others

Did the vehicle run before you changed the coil pack? If not look at your crank position sensor. Check it by testing your injector pulse. This will elminate the crank sensor and ecu beacuse they fire the coil and your injector pulse. Make sure your getting power to the coil pack. It goes through the fuse block and the ignition switch then to the coil. If i'm not mistaken there is a wire that always has power to the coil aswell.
