Wanted Wtb manual steering pitman arm 2wd

I'm looking to convert from power steering to manual steering. Im looking to buy the pitman for a 2wd. Anyone have one? Please any help is appreciated.

Here are places in Arizona that have a manual steering box that fits a 95. Chances are they have the pitman arm still on the box or it's laying around somewhere. In case you didn't know, the steering box on the ranger is the same box that is on the full size trucks. Though a manual box on the larger trucks is more rare.

Called them all. And went to most. They either don't have the truck anymore or they're stupid and listed them as manual steering but instead were power steering.

That's the problem I have run into with that site. The old garbage in, garbage out scenario. The people in the office at the yard don't get it right sometimes.

if you would be willing to pay 'yard price plus shipping (From CO) I would put it on my unicorn list and keep an eye out for it. I know there is a 1st gen 4x4 with manual and the pitman is there, but at this exact moment can't say anything about 2wd.... take a look at the price list in post #1 and then if you have a definite for sure post what you want in the thread:

So I went to the junkyard for my own needs today, and having browsed the forums here for a week or 2 since my last travel discovered that there are more than a few folks hunting for "unicorn parts" one of em was the guy looking for a pitman arm from a 1st gen manual steering box. I had a hunch...

I'll absolutely buy a MANUAL steering 2wd pitman arm if you find one! Shipping isn't an issue either. I'm in phx az 85043 so not to far anyway. Find me one!!! Please! My trucks a 95 but from what I've researched from 88 to 97 2wd will work fine.

Yes. No luck. All the trucks were powering or already crushed

Rock Auto and O'reilly's both have manual pitman arms, as well as reman manual steering boxes. Note: the manual boxes are 6.25-6.5 turns lock to lock, the power steering gear box is closer to 4.0, so the 'ease of turning' comparison is not exactly apples to apples.

The pitman arm is $63.00 on O'reilly's. FYI, hope it is of use. Cheers!

Edit: got the O’Reilly Pitman arm, and it turns out it was for the power steering gearbox not the manual gearbox. After I found out that it didn’t fit, I dug way into the Q&A for that particular part, someone else had had trouble, confirm that it was for the power steering gearbox. Trying rock auto next.

Yes. I've ran into that as well. Everywhere they list it as "manual" ends up being power as well. Rockauto I know has a few boxes, theres also a "performance" manual box I found. So the boxes are out there. But as you've found out nobody has the arm. I'm STILL looking as well.

Any luck on that pitman arm search? 2wd manual steering? I've had some leads but nothing ever came of them

I found one just last week at the local Pick and Pull. Felt like the ape in the opening scene of 2001. Raised it over my head in the yard and screeched in triumph!

I’ll post notes after I replace the box. Have one ‘issue to figure out, the power steering pump is one of the attachment points for the alternator on my version of the 2.3L. Need to make or find a bracket or figure out how to bypass the pump.
