Just wondering if anyone has some DIY tricks for wrist pin removal on a 93 2.3 ranger engine.
I know the best and fastest way is with a press, but I don't currently have access to one.
I was thinkin about trying to press them out with a large c clamp, a socket, and a block of wood with a hole in it.
Has anyone done it any way besides a press?

And secondly, for installing the new pistons, what is the best method? I've heard of heating the connecting rod then pushing the wrist pin threw, but I kind of don't think this is the best way.

Thanks, hopefully someone with some first hand knowledge here can help me out.

a machinist can do both jobs in a few minutes.
heating is the right way, but you should at least
see it done before trying it. it is easy to ruin
a motor if you do it wrong.
