Wow gas millage!

Okey 97, 3.0 4x4 5spd, 33x12.50s. Okey just done the math on this and its one like 7.2mpg! Okey I know this aint goin to be the best on gas but it should get more than 7mpg, New plugs,wire. ANy ideals?
I have gett the ses ligh, Im thinking its from a exaust leak befor the 02 sensor, but I dont see a leak makeing this truck get 7mpg. all so I have 373s

Have the speedometer and odometer been corrected for the larger tire? If not, thats part of the loss.

Could be one of the problems. But last night I put 5gal in it with it sittin on empty, put it on a 1/4 tank(yes dont you just love the price of gas) went and done some wheeling, 36 miles(on the clock any how) and now she's flat on empty. I'm not sure if my gas light is on just yet but shes on the E.
I'm guessing a weak sending unit could make the gauge not read right. Allso would fuel pump toubles cause poor gas millage?

Your going to use more gas wheeling than anything else, and your method will never work right anyway.

Correct your speedometer for larger tires. Nothing will work right until you do this. If your speedometer is off, then your odometer is off. In NY state you would have to mark on your title that your mileage is inaccurate if you didn't have it corrected, not sure about your state.

Then fill your tank until the pump shuts off, don't over-fill it. Drive and keep track of your miles, next time you fill up (you have to fill up) use that number with your mileage to get your MPG.

That is the ONLY accurate way to do it.

Interesting....So I guess i'll have to fill er up. lol Bigest problem with that is, I dont have it "on the road" yet. lol No tags or insurance. But soon I hope.
I gotta put a fule pump in it and swap beds out soon, so I guess I will put a new sending unit in it wile im in there.
