wont shft to 3d

I have a 94 ranger 4x4 recently had a new slave cylinder put in also clutch pressure plate and thow out bearing now all the sudden it wont shift in 3d gear all the other gears shift fine what can I do

Will it shift into 3rd when the truck is not running? Also when it is running and moving when you do go to shift it into 3rd does it grind or block out (meaning it just stops)?
