Wohlf 16's 99 Ranger build

Yeah I plan on painting it. Im gonna keep it red. I would like to keep it the same red that it was originally but not sure how expensive it will be.
I couldnt believe that they sold those drive shaft u-bolts at advance auto. They were like 5 bux. The only bad thing was they offered 2 sizes and I got the smaller and it was a little too small but I bent them out and made them work.
I had originally thought that I wouldnt worry about a t-bar but I do think it would definetly improve its handling characteristics on the road. I am gonna wait until after I setup the high steer tho so I will have an appropriate angle to work with.
A lot of my wandering right now is due to having a smaller bolt through the pitman arm than what the hole is on the pitman arm.
Next saturday Im planning on driving it back to my house. It hasnt made a trip further than about a 1/4 mile at a time, but with sensible driving and all back roads I should be fine.
More updates when they arrive.

damn.....should have death wobble with a smaller bolt.....why didnt ya keep a tierod at the pitman?

I just used what I had available at the time. I had saw another guy on here do it and he was using it as a daily driver! Definetly not a good idea. The toyota pitman arm had a sealed type ball joint with a sleeve in the hole of the pitman arm. When I took it out it left me with a huge hole. When I get my new hubs and rotors to change it from 6 lug to five lug Im gonna put my high steer knuckles on. They are already drilled and tapped just need to get some arms. Gonna run the tie rod and drag link over the leaves, no point in leavin the tie rod low. Then I will have a tre at the pitman arm. May be a while before this happens. Coaching high school baseball this spring and that takes up a lot of time.

Havent done much to it lately except I modified my center console for the manual t-case shifter. Dosent look to bad. Have to put up some pics soon.
I was looking around in the barn and I found the trac bar/ panhard bar whatever its called from the wagoneer axle. I was thinkin, what anybodys thought about just reusing that? I would weld up new brackets since I cut the old off. The bar has bushings on both ends and its not a straight bar it has a bend that would run over top the differential. Also would this help with its wandering issues? I tightened up the steering a bunch by putting a large nut inside the pitman arm but its still a loose cannon. I can be driving straight and it acts like it wants to bolt off the road when I hit a bump. It also reacts better at higher speeds than at slower. Just wanted to hear what you guys thought.
Oh and even tho its still only 2 wheel drive, I was at my parents house with it and my dad says he cant believe I havent tried to climb anything yet or take it through the woods. He told me to try and climb this hill behind there house and I tried it and that friggin truck went right up the side of it without hardly gassin it. I cant wait to start playin with her, its gonna be a blast. And by the way this hill is practically straight up!

Well I have a little set back. Turns out that when I modded that waggy front axle for leaf over it weakened the axle housing and caused it to break. This project has been a learning experience. Oh well time to upgrade. 78 f250 dana 44 and dana 60 time. Will I be able to fit a 15 inch wheel on these bad boys?

I think the frame is a little bent from the accident that totalled it and the bed isnt fully bolted down. It drives straight down the road so Im not too worried.

The axle broke cause I was a dumbass and didnt reinforce the housing after I trimmed it up to make it leaf over. Noticed the driver side tire creaping inwards and thought that wheel bearings were goin bad. Nope the welds just gave up. I will post pics of it later.

I traded the boggers cause I wouldnt be able to fit a 15 inch wheel on the 3/4 ton axles. Was driven from work to baseball practice and saw them in front of the guys shop and asked if he would trade boggers without wheels for tires and wheels. The worst was he was only asking 650 for the set and I was wanting 900 just for the boggers without wheels.

Placed the front axle under the truck today. Shes gonna be wide. Glad the new tires are only 12.5 wide. Need to get new u-bolts and plates(whatever there called). Anybody have a set of square u-bolts and plates for a 3/4 dana 44 they wanna give to me? I know your not suppose to reuse them but I havent had any problems yet.

Keep it updated as it come together. The dana 60 is gonna need some lovin so its in the garage on stands.

Alright gotta a bunch of pics. Crappy quality cell pics but whatever. Threw the front axle under it with some ubolts I had layin around. Didnt want it sittin on jack stands for a long time. Only 2 more weeks of high school baseball then back to work on it.
This is the reason for swapping.

Rear is really a 60. I heard some have a dana 61. Never knew there was such an animal. This should make it easier to get stuff for it tho.

Am I allowed to join the 3/4 ton group yet or should I wait? I think its bad luck to do it until its done. Seen too many back out when they join before finishing.
And yes I know the u-bolts are friggin long and weak. That will be taken care of. And no I am not gonna use the round u-bolts. Not hackin up another diff and havin it fail again. Plus the damn bottom plates cost me 60 bucks.

Got my passenger side knuckle back from colorado. Put her together and put it on the truck tonight. Didnt get any pics of it installed but will shortly. Also pic of sticker I had made a 4 Wheel Jamboree.

Alright, a lot has changed. Cut all my brackets off and totally changed the way my leaf springs are. Not postin pics until shes throwin mud. Oh and also have my 5.13s for the front and rear just need to decide whether to tackle it myself or pay someone else to do it.
Question time!
Ive got my high steer arms on my knuckles. My arms are tapered for chevy tre's. What would be a tierod that I could use that has the hole in it for the drag link thats full width?

Everything on the front is changed. Still need to find a tierod and drag link. Anybody that knows what I can use I would really appreciate it. Sick of my hillbilly rig. Buddy from work came out and we decided to take it for a spin and a photo-op. Here ya go....
