Wiring Harness question

i was wondering if any wiring harness from an 89 2.3 ranger will be compatible with a truck of the same year. Im just wanting to make sure there weren't any mid year changes or anything of that sort. i've heard 89's were an experimental year. also will the a wiring harness on a truck with power steering work with a non-power steering truck. thanks for any help

the only wiring change for power steering is one two wire connector that isn't important anyway... and that connector was on my non power steering truck...

my truck is a combination of an '89 and early '90 (built in late '89), the chassis wiring was different between the two and I had to change it on the chassis swap.

so do you know what production dates are compatible in regards to engine wiring harnesses? Also what gauge wiring does the wiring harness use(particularly the portion that would run across the top of the engine

no idea, but I think my '90 was built in November '89

The wire looks to be 16awg

i think this truck was built in june of 89. made progress today, patched the harness, engine turns over but wont start.. has new exhaust side coil pack and all new plugs.. i think its the ICM thats bad. it wasn't mounted with heat conducting grease on this new engine.
