Hey guys, i got a 73 302 going in my 90 ranger that came with a 2.9. so right mow i am starting on the wiring, now this being really my first real tear down, when i did it 2 years ago i took out all traces of wiring from the engine bay, the only things left were 3 connectors under the brake booster and beside the steering box, now that i have my enging back in i was hoping to reuse some old wiring and get my lights hooked up, i was wondering if the lights were on a seperate harness that does not go into the computer than everything else?
i am also going to reuse my stock alternator until i can get a 140 amp one, what kind of wiring do i need to do for that to work?
i also have an aftermarket dristributor i think because it is a smaller diameter than most stock ones ive seen, it has points in it unfortunatly but there is only 1 black wire coming out of it, im pretty sure it is power but the black color threw me off a little bit, where does this wire need to go and do i need to put a fuse in line or not, and if so what amperage?
i have a holley with an electric choke on it it has 2 wires coming out of it which is positive and which is negative? does the positive need a fuse?

thanks in advance a lot, and sorry bout how the post is, the only time i ever get wordy is when i talk bout my truck.

Are you using the 2.9 altenator? Just curious. As far as the distributor goes I would suggest looking to get a points eliminator kit.

yea i am using a 2.9 alternator, and i will be getting one o thoes pts eliminator kits in the future, there bout $70, lil more than i can put in to the distributor right now

In my oppinion its a good idea to fuse about anything electrical. If that electric choke shorted out for some reason id want the power to get cut, being on the side of the carb.

so how do i determin which amp rating for the fuse to be
