Wireless keypad question

I have a 1996 Ranger that I added a RAP module for keyless entry and antitheft. I am considering adding a keypad from an Explorer, Crown Vic, etc. but I am timid on cutting a hole in the door. Will a Ford wireless keypad work on this module?

Wire it all up and test it before physical installation. Just lay the parts on the floor all wired up to make sure it all works electrically.

I’m talking about a wireless keypad that are on newer Fords. I’m curious to know if it will communicate with the rap module?

If its wireless...

One would think you'd have to program the module to recognize the output from the wireless key pad. Similar to programming fobs...

Though I don't know for sure... I think you might be trying to blend old tech with new tech it may not understand.

I honestly don’t know. Is the RAP you added a Ford product? You didn’t really include enough information for anyone to say “yes” or “no”. The best answer really is “try it and find out.” And you should be able to wire everything up and try it without cutting or drilling holes in anything important.
