wire gauge to solder panel wires?

i am in the process of making custom panel/gauge cluster and need to know what wire gauge i would need to solder the flat wire to round wire for attaching turn signals, and other bulbs that i need to rewire.

i know strange request. i am using 86 unit and placing into 83 truck.

I'd use 18 ga. Small enough to be flexible in tight areas, large enough to carry the current...
