I've searched without luck for the above part. Neither Rock Auto nor Advance Auto type places seem to have it available. And our dealership parts guy tells me that it is no longer available from Ford.

Does anyone have a source for a wiper regulator for an '88 ranger?

Thanks,

John

Are you looking for the transmission arms or the control module?

I have spares of both.

eBay.

I see that Rock Auto has been out of wiper switches for a while. I hope they start stocking them again. I'm out of good ones and the intermittent adjustment in my 88 only works in one spot. Junk yards have been a waste of time, theirs are all broken too.

I'll have to dig around and see what I got post a pic of what your looking for if you have it out so I can compare it to what I have and see if I have a spare

I spent a lot of time searching for one for my 88 BII, over a year actually. What I discovered was that it appears that base part tnumber specifies the actual module and extension numbers designate the harness. So I bought one off eBay with the plan to move the harness to the new module.
When I took the column apart the wiring was missing insulation here and there probably causing short. I taped the wiring and tried it and it worked.
Two different Ford techs had diagnosed the module as bad, but the steps to diagnose apparently don't isolate the harness from the module.

The part number is E7TZ-17C476-B. It is the "Governor, Windshield Wiper".

Thanks,

John

I never found the part either. Park mechanism doesn't work and neither does intermittent on my 88 B2. When I had the transmission rebuilt I had them fix the wipers so they work you just have to shut them off at the right time otherwise they stop wherever you turn them off at...so I just have off, low, and high....good enough for me, could really care less about the intermittent as long as they work LOL. It kept tripping the circuit breaker, so I bet somewhere in that harness there was a short, but I'm not any good at vehicle electrical so I knew not to even try to look around and see what was going on LOL.
