Hello. I'm working on a friend's 1998 Ranger. The wipers work intermittently. I have discovered that wiggling the fuse will make them come on or off. I tried replacing with a new fuse, but same problem.

If the wipers stop, I can barely touch the fuse and they will come back on.

Obviously a loose connection. Question is whether it is the actual fuse lugs that are loose or dirty, or could it be something loose inside fuse box? Don't really want to open the fuse box.

Well, I fixed it. Realized that one side of the fuse was "tight" and other was not being "grabbed" by the receptacle. Unbolted fuse box so I could see inside the hole, and used tiny screwdriver to bend the prong to make a tighter connection. Working great now.

Good job! Sometimes you just need to do it!
