Hope I got the right forum, if so , here's the issue. My wipers work on HI, LOW, and the delay (twist knob) on the column switch doesn't seem to do a whole lot. The big issue is, once I turn the wipers on, they don't want to turn OFF.

I swapped the wiper switch on the column with a known good one, and still have the same problem. I can hear the delay module under the dash click, and checked the wiring and don't see anything obvious. When I shut the ignition key off, the wipers go off and remain that way until I use them again. Then they stick ON.

The wiper motor seems fine, and I"m sure the wiper switch on the column is good. What's left besides the delay module ? I searched for one on autozone.com and can't seem to come up with one and there's no mention of this part in the Haynes Manual. Any advice ?

There is a "cold solder" joint on the wiper control module that should be investigated whenever intermittent wiper issues crop up. I dont have the ability to post a schematic, but it is one of the leads that come off of the main terminal, and is fairly large. The solder around the lead will look dull and will most likely show physical separation from the circuit board itself. Re-solder with a good hot iron and it may well cure what ails ya. Takes 30-45 minutes, depending on how adept you are at worming your way under the dash to retrieve the module. It's to the left of the ashtray about 6 inches.

The Delay module on an '87 is USUALLY mounted to the brace bar that goes from the right side of the peddle support down to the floor at the seam between the transmission hump and the firewall

The best place to get one is actually a junkyard.

BTW the way they are wired in they can by bypassed by tracing the two wire bundles there is one between the switch and the module, the other bundle runs to a connector that plugs directly into a non-delay wiper switch

Basically what I'm saying is that the entire delay wiper buisness is designed as an obvious "After-thought" for the gen1 RBV's
