I have a 1998 2.5L Ranger and when I shut it off, it makes a wine noise that is comeing from the engine compartment right when I shut the engine off. I know it doesn't sound very broad, but does anyone have any ideas on what this may be? Thanks ranger1998xlt

How long does it WHINE? Does it do it hot or cold? Are you running AC? Is it really loud or do you have to listen for it. Is this with the key out?

the whine goes with the engine shutting off, by the time the engine is off it is done. I only notice it after I drive it.
