My 1992 Extended cab Ranger just developed a leak in the upper-right corner of the windshield that results in a wet headliner.

I had a few rock chips in the glass so I had the windshield replaced on Friday. It rained Saturday and I had the same soaked headliner in the same spot.

I'm wondering if there is a problem with the joint between the cab roof and the A pillar and/or rain gutter. Is this a common problem? Is there a simple fix?

The cab brake like is a common leak point
The lower windshield trough is a common leak point.

Around the whole windshield is a trough, gap between glass and body, the trim pieces fit into this.
You could get water trapped in any area which causes rusting to start and eventually cause the hole through to the cab.
Lower area is common because water tends to collect there because of gravity.

Windshield installer should have seen any rusted out spots, did you tell them about the leak?

They may have just looked at the lower, more common area.
I would take it back and have them pull out the windshield and then inspect the whole area.

My 91 has the same issue. On the right side too. I swapped the windshield and took it back for extra resell and still haven't gotten it to stop. Heard 3rd brake lights leak so I siliconed that and the gutters. But mine still leaks. Please let me know what you figure out.

they rust in that corner and it leaks because of it.

Had the same issue, the water channels above the doors had rusted holes. I bought some black silicone and went to town. Around the windshield, 3rd break light, and water channels. Fixed er up real good like.

my 92 has the leaking issue, seems to be on the left side. thought it was either the windsheild or the visor leaking. i sisliconed around the windsheild and redid all the bolts holding the visor on. next i guess i pull out the headliner and just silicone the whole inside front and sides. never had this issue with my other 2 rangers. and this one was garaged most of its life. go figure
