Has anybody found a windshield wiper arm that will flip out like other wiper arms to keep them off of the windshield when it snows? I will be hunting the junkyards for such wiper arms.:icon_confused:

My 2000 Ranger came w/ that type of wiper arm. FWIW, they are 18" long and take an 18" wiper blade. You could buy whatever size blade to go on the arms, I suppose.

I swapped on a pair from an early 90s explorer. They work well and now I don't have to use those stupid pinned-through-the-middle antique blades.

IIRC the existing arms have the capability to stand away from the glass on their own. You just have to flip out a little tab to keep them from coming back down.

Yeah, it's on the top side of the arm, a little half-circle shape a tab pointing away from the glass. Pull the arm away from the glass, pull out on the tabby thing, and let the arm rest on it.

Here is a pic of it out.
