Winch controller plug questions

I've had an XRC8 winch on my truck for over a year now. the factory winch controller plug took about 6 months to rot apart, I replaced it with a round 4 wire trailer plug, it is now rotting off... I used dielectric grease liberally on both of them as well. Has anyone ever had this problem? What did you use to replace the connector?

Hmm I've been using a 4pin flat trailer connector for 7 years now without problems on my truck. Warn M8000.

went out and found a decent looking flat 4 setup yesterday, has a mounting bracket and all, i'll have to try it and see how it works out, i'll keep you posted
