I have an 11 4x4 with 17000 miles. Would the tires and wheels interchange with my 02 2x4. I would like to use them rather than throw them away because of age. I bought the 02 new and it has 205000 miles and is the first vehicle I prefer to drive. I've read where they will fit and won't fit. Somebody might know from experience. The 11 is 255x70 16 on factory alloy wheels. The 02 is 225x70 15 on factory chrome wheels.

Same lug pattern and same back spacing. No issue using the 2011 wheels on the 2002. It MAY not work the other way around (i.e cant use the 2002 wheels on the 2011) because the brakes should be larger on the 2011.

255/70r16s are only 30" so they will fill out the wheel well quite a bit on the 2wd but shouldn't rub. I have 29" tires on my 2wd and they fit perfectly.

By the way, a 2x4 is lumber, your truck is a 4x2, at least that's what they're called in NH.
You get an attaboy for not calling your wheels rims, a rim is only part of a wheel.

We just call them RWD.

Only one tire spins on my truck... is it a 4x1?

Well, my 2011 has open diffs, so it's technically a 4X2 and the 2019 with the locker engaged is a 4X3.

4X4 means 4 wheel ends and 4 positions distribute power e.g. sgtsandman's trucks, both the '11 & '19.
4X2 means 4 wheel ends and 2 positions distribute power e.g. Quitin's truck.
2X0 means 2 wheel ends, no power e.g. a single axle trailer.
2X1 means 2 wheel ends and 1 positions distribute power e.g. motorcycle

Note: Whether dually or single wheel, its axle ends which count, so the average semi tractor is a 6X4 (not a 10X8).

My tandem ranger is a 6X2 as only the stock rear axle is powered and the aft most axle is just along for ride; steering axle isn't powered either.

Dirtman and my comment were meant to be tongue in cheek and not serious.

Don't put you're tounge in my cheek!
