Buddy of mine found this ad in a "Mustang Monthly" magazine. Went to the website, and they have this

Will this work for my 302 swap? 84 BII, Currently has EB oil pan (dipstick in pan). looks like this pan has the dipstick on the passenger side, unless i am looking at this thing backwards, and the main sump is in the front

Yeah that is the style you need, but the big sump goes to the rear... which would put your dipstick in that hole in the picture on the driver side of your engine. That is how they all are, that front sump is just a place for the oil pump to live, the rear is the real sump that the oil is picked up out of.

Personally, mine is coming from here:

haha, its been a long day, i'm getting my directions all screwed up!

thank you for that link! looks like the same stuff, minus pump and gasket, for $100 less. i think i can find a pump and gasket for under $100, haha.

I don't see a pump shown in your picture, the pickup is included with both kits.

yup, i definitely need sleep. i think i'll just wait until tomorrow before i start replying anymore, haha!

Just ordered the same part, but from jegs. thanks for the info!

I just ordered this exact kit from Summit... it is a kit to put a later model 5.0 in a '79 Mustang... so they are planning on it going on a later engine that is drilled to have the dipstick run thru the engine block rather than the oil pan.

I swear they just added that note, I have been looking at this kit forever. Now I have three of these stinkin oil pans (until I get this one returned)

yeah, they did just add that note. well, crap, this blows, mainly because i can only blame myself for not looking it over closer. and i can't find the invoice so i can send it back.

Well I've got an extra here but the shipping would be a bunch. Need pictures or anything, give me a shout.
Dave
