I have a 2002 5sp 4cly XLT 4x2 with 15 inch stock rims. If I buy a guys 16in Edge rims with 245/75-16 tires will it fit and look good? Anyone done this before. I'm worried they will not have enough clearance and look stupid. I want the 4x4 look but still need the gas mpg.

You'll probably lose just a shade of power and fuel economy... BUT, they should fit and look fine. 4x4 and 4x2 Rangers sit at nearly the same exact height, except the 4x4's sport a 2" lift block in the rear.

I stuck with 15" rims on mine cuz I have 15" rims for all of my RBVs and I wanted to not have to think when I order tires as to what rims they're going on, so in my case I just bought a little bigger tire than what came on my Ranger and got a more aggressive tread pattern (Sport King AT). Since I needed a lil extra weight capacity in the rear, I built custom leaf packs which make my 2wd sit pretty much just like a 4x4... truth be told, it's often mistaken for a 4x4, and I've had to argue with a few people that it is in fact a 2wd, including two police officers....

i put that size tire on my truck which is a 2wd. the stock tires were something on a 14 inch wheels. i can't remember, my old tires were 26inchers and the new ones are 30's. it looks alot better but i have some clearance issues in the front. i think my wheel openings must be smaller than those of a 4x4. it feels a little slower, but it really isnt that much because now the speedo is off by a shit load. at 55 im really doing 65. i would do it though, the bigger wheels helped in the snow and ride department. clearance is only a problem when i jump and when i make turns full lock. but i think thats cause my bumper is pushed in a little.
