Will this fuel pump work?

I have a 86 extended cab 2.9 ranger. I have the motor out for a rebuild. I decided that my truck is shot and I also wanted a 4 x 4. I bought an 87 standard cab 4 x 4 and am taking the good parts off of my 86 to put on my 87. I have a new in tank pump in the 86. It is a mid drivers side tank. My 87 has two tanks. I am thinking that I can use the pump from the 86 for the front tank in the 87.

Ya sure you can, the pumps are the same you just might have to put the good pump on the newer trucks in tank pick up assy.
