i have a 86 ranger. and im looking to lift the front with some lifter springs. i found a set of jeep cherokee springs that would lift 4.5 inches( i think). does anyboady know if they would fit my ranger with out to much modification?

5.5" wide outside diameter, top inner coil is about 2 1/4

Please help!!!

Those coils might work... What cab is your Ranger? (those coils will likely be too soft for a Supercab)
 
Read around here about Jeep coil swaps and early Bronco coil swaps.

Being those coils are a bit softer than what came stock (and are MUCH softer than any aftermarket TTB lift kit coils), you'll need to pay careful attention to the angle of your steering linkage after you lift it, otherwise you'll have some major issues with handling and tire wear (a longer drop pitman than what comes with most suspension kits is usually needed).

Do you know what the rate is on those coils (or at least what brand they are)?
