I'm waiting on my next Ranger to be road ready. It's been sitting for about a year withing being cranked up or driven. The engine is new with not many miles on it and two of my friends said some fresh gas and some injecter cleaner should get it to start since to my knowledge it has no mechanical faults. How likely is this?

Just like that!

It happens all the time around here.. In fact if the fuel tank has very little fuel in it I'd just fill it up and use whatever was left in there to mix with the new stuff.. The injector cleaner isn't needed unless it starts running badly. I'd save that for later.

Thats good to know. As soon as I get it I'm gonna change the oil for good measure. I was just worried since I know sitting still like a brick isn't good for an engine.

I think you'll be totally fine.

Just jump it and find out. The Ethanol hopefully didn't gum anything up but If it were me, I would try to remove the tank and get all of the old gas out before starting it. the little bit in the lines will be there and thats it.

Once you get it going though, I would change the oil.

I dont know if it's got gas in it now, but the issue is that the truck is about 170 miles away. And I know I couldn't get it on a lift up there without having a shop do it which I refuse to pay for when nothing is busted and instead may need cleaning.
