My 86 Ranger 4X4 has the Mitsubishi FM145 trans. It's making funny sounds and is coming out of the truck for a clutch issue. I found a trans on craigslist for a 1984 4X4 Ranger with the 2.8 (mine is the 2.9) and I'm thinking about getting it if I know it will bolt in without changing anything else around. Can someone let me know? Thanks guys.

Here's the trans.

I'm not 100% sure. It looks for all the world like an FM145 in that picture, but the part number is wrong. I would be so much more sure of the answer if I could see the other side and the bottom of the trans.

The T-case will bolt up no matter what, the only question is the drive shafts. If it's a TK, which the part number suggests it may be, the drive shafts will be too short.
