well ill need a new driverside axle and the wheel pinion for my 89' BII, would a ranger D28 axle be the same length and have the same splines?? heres a picture of my situation in case you dont know what im talking about..

Yes it will. That happened to me once. I swapped in a D35 soon after.

awsome, yeah i wanna do the D35 swap. i just bought this pile of crap. after getting it home and spending about 3 hours looking over everything, i feel i got ripped off. o well, what can i say, it'll make do. im sort on cash and just want to get this thing on the road. it'll be a daily for about 5 months..

I'm going to be putting a D30 on mine but thats another story. As for the D28, its great, but if I had to replace something major like whats in your picture, I'd put a D35 on. But make sure the D35 isn't a D35 hybrid.

o yeah, im gunna do a D35 swap in a little while, for now, its just gunna be a winter truck. so for now im gunna just throw a used axle in it and run it. since the driverside axle doesnt use a c-clip, it will just slide out. shouldnt be too hard to replace, hardest part will be breaking bolts loose to get the spindle off.
