ok well im new here guys, names Justin and im 17. my 87 thunderbird 2.3T recently just blew up on me. a guy i work with is selling me his 80s model ranger, single cab 6ft bed, for $500 with a 2.3 N/A. the engine bay is stripped and ALL it has is engine, altenator, battery, msd ignition box and i believe it may have heat. the interior is tore up, the carpet is gone. she has the bench seat that has a seat cover on it because its all worn out. i wanna go with bucket seats and was wondering what everyone has used, i know i can pretty much make anything fit if i make brackets but im just seeing whats easy/common with theses truck. ill post some pics when i get the truck to my house.

thanks
-JT

find some rails from another ranger with bucket seats and use the buckets from your tbird or that is what i would do i got a set how far are you from buchanan county va

im like 7hrs away lol. i was thinking some leather seats since im going to go with a street truck build, lowered a little (not sitting on the frame lol), sweet custom paint, etc. kinda make it look old school. like a set of mustang black leather seats or something, i think that would look sweet.

good luck finding them in decent shape in a junkyard... might have to get crappy ones and pay for reupholstering them.

couple of these maybe?

just kidding! Mustang seats will work but Explorer leather buckets would give more of a "factory" look if you so choose.

well im not going with a factory look lol, just something fun to drive and a little custom for show. my dads a painter and im training to be a painter so thinkin a deep red metallic with black faded flames with skulls in the fade :D so mainly i just want some black leather really. would be nice to find someone parting a mustang :D actualy did see some 96 mustang seats, black leather for $350 front and rear, wonder what he would take for just the front :D

my neighbor has a set from a 2000 mustang that are dark grey leather i think he wants 100 for them and they are excellent if you would like i can get some pics for you

country, yeah get me some pics and info, do they come with the rails also? ask if he will ship to 23435. ill be very interested if they are in good shape, wasnt gunna go with grey but hey it will get the job done :D

I'm not sure what I think about the skull idea.
The deep red with black flames might be nice, but keep it subtle. Eventually you're gonna sell this truck want something different.
If you want to make touch-ups easier, use paints with factory paint codes from ANY OEM.
I've seem some nice dark-cherry colors on some Chevy's.

like i said, my dads been painting for years, im going to prolly use an OEM paint but ima do something custom in the flames, my dad did custom bike tanks for a long time and flames kinda run in the family :D

here is a mini bike take we did when i was younger. i want the same paint scheme, and where it has the lace faded around the edges and tips, these is an airbrush stencil that is like that but it looks like skulls. it actually looks really cool. it still looks like lace but it has cutouts of skulls.

and yes i had the sweetest mini bike on the block! :D

well that paint doesnt have the skull inlays, thats just regular lace inlys. but i think if i snag those 2 gray leather seats i might go with ford Mineral Gray and black instead of the red.

something tells me if this guy paints some flames and skulls on his truck its gonna prolly look pretty sick. by the looks of that minibike your paintjob on your rangers gonna look just fine man....keep the build pics comin!
