i found a set of 95 explorer axles for cheap. will they be a direct bolt in into my 89' B2? will my B2 driveshaft work? what problems would i run into?? what axles would be under a 95' explorer??

The front is the short-long arm IFS, won't work for you at all.

The rear will work but it will require that you relocate the spring perches to the top of the axle tube, and re set the pinion angle. The rear will be a disc brake 31 spline 8.8.

Yes, actually 91-94 (90 didn't exists) will have you what you are looking for.

you would still have to relocate the perches. Might as well get the '95 axle with discs.

You'll also have to weld on shock mounts regardless of which Explorer axle you use.

Most likely will need to change the driveshaft flange to match up to the Explorer axle drive flange too.

And when you do the perches you have to take pinion angle into account. So if you are going to lift it, do that at the same time so you can get the angle correct.

thanks for the info guys. ill have to do some more research on this swap. i was told that the D35 under the explorers would be a direct bolt in.

Yes it is, but you will have to get the front drive shaft shortened 1".

If you are going to use the disks on the rear you may want to also pick up a master cylinder from the same year explorer. I believe it holds more fluid for the rear disks.

Unless you're going to lift 6" or more.

I just swapped in a D35 and didn't need to shorten the driveshaft.

My truck has a 6" lift though.
