When I ordered parts for my truck, I did not realize someone swapped the rear axle, and the tag was gone.

Well the original axle was 7.5 with 9" Brakes.

The axle swapped in was an 8.8" with 9" brakes.

So I have drums, pads, hardware, and wheel cylinders for 9" brakes.

The JY axle is 10".

Will 9" brakes fit on an 8.8 with 10", provided I put my backing plates on?

I put 10 inch brakes on a 7.5 so I think they will work.

Ok. Now can you take the axles out without taking the carrier out?

I do believe the 7.5" and 8.8" have c-clips. You would have to remove the cover to access the clips.

HI, I would think as long as you use all the hardware, ( like what you have, backing plate to drum) and the drum fits the axle it should work..
good luck
