I have a 93 Ford ranger 2.3L 4x4 and when its warming up it will like go down to 500 rpms and then shoot back up to 1000 rpms it does this a bunch of times. I am thinking its a vaccum leak cuz when i shut it off you can hear it sucking just before its off.:icon_confused:

have you're IAC solenoid checked, could also be an air leak around the solenoid, are u getting any trouble codes?

i bought a new IAC like 6 months ago and yeah because i i deleted my EGR i got a different intake that already had the EGR gone

my friends Yota was doing the same thing...the mass airflow "tube" needed cleaning & adjusting...the sensor itself was still good.

ok how would i adjust it ??? and my MAF might be BAD?????

on youre MAF, they make a spray cleaner which you just take you're MAF sensor off, spray the little probe that is sticking down from underneath the sensor, let it dry, then put it back on,it worked well on mine,on the tube just make sure you have no obstructions and its sealed, should be good to go

sounds like a dirty maf and/or an over active iac. pull the iac and clean the carbon out of the passages with some carb cleaner, fill it up let it soak for a few dump it spray it out real good and reinstall. to clean the maf , there is a maf cleaning spray at the parts store you can buy. don't use just anything, buy the maf cleaner spray. it does make a difference. spray down the heating wires well and from both sides/ends and reinstall.
